正月初五，也叫“破五”，是我國的傳統節日，在這一天有（yǒu）很多講究和習俗，在《歲時瑣事（shì）》中記載說：“欲有所作為，必過此五日，始行之”，意（yì）思就是在春節（jiē）期間有很多規矩和講究，不能亂（luàn）說話，不能說不吉利（lì）的話，過了初五之後人們（men）不必有這些忌（jì）諱（huì）。
“破（pò）五”這一天，人們（men）最在意的一件事情就是“送窮（qióng）迎財”，即智窮（qióng）、學窮、文窮、命窮、交窮，民間把（bǎ）這五窮稱之為五窮鬼，大家會用不同的習俗將這五窮送走，比（bǐ）如在陝西韓（hán）城（chéng）一（yī）帶，大家會炒麻豆，將豆子炒到劈裏啪啦（lā）作響，意（yì）思就時把壞的運氣“崩走”。當然除了送窮之外，這5件事，破五一定不要忘。
一、迎財神
據說正月初五是財神的生日，從這一天淩晨開始，人（rén）們就開始相繼迎財神，普（pǔ）通人家會給財神（shén）供上水果，麵條或者餃子，在燒香求拜，燃放鞭炮以此求得財運（yùn），而且給財神貢過的吃食，再讓家裏人（rén）吃，來（lái）年財（cái）運一（yī）定會旺。
財神即五路神。所謂五路，指東西南北中，意為出門五路（lù），皆可（kě）得財。除了五路神之外，還有武財神，文財神等說法，但無論拜（bài）哪個財神，隻要心誠，皆能帶來財運。
二、吃餃子
俗話說“好吃（chī）不（bú）如餃子”，在中國大大小小的節日（rì）裏，都離不開吃餃子，除了美味之外（wài），它已經是中（zhōng）華美食重要的組成（chéng）部分。從（cóng）初一到（dào）初五禁忌比較多，所（suǒ）以到了破五吃餃子，表示慶賀不在有禁忌了（le）。另外還有（yǒu）人“包餃子，捏住小人（rén）嘴”的（de）說法，意思就是來年小人少說壞（huài）話。
三、打掃房（fáng）子
從除夕開（kāi）始到正月（yuè）初四，通（tōng）常是不會打掃（sǎo）房子的，尤其是掃地，老一輩人認為會把財運掃走，而到了破五這一天，就要由內到外把垃圾掃成一個堆，然後放（fàng）上（shàng）鞭炮，點然後劈裏啪啦，這樣不好的運氣都會一掃而光，剩下的便是財氣和福氣。
四、放鞭炮
正（zhèng）月初五這一天，家家戶戶都會燃放鞭炮，而且鞭炮越響越長，寓意就越好，代表著把窮運，以（yǐ）及（jí）各種不吉利都能轟去，有（yǒu）人（rén）還會燃放二踢腳，也叫“崩窮”，把晦氣和窮氣統統都崩掉。有些商戶在初五這（zhè）一天也會正式營業，放一串鞭炮，寓意（yì）今天財源滾滾。
